Stored strategies and addresses remain in the system until you delete them. To delete a strategy or an address created with EDIT ADDRESS, log on with the same User Id that was used to SAVE it and use the RELEASE command.

• To RELEASE a SearchSave or Alert:

?release paper
SearchSave "PAPER" released

• To RELEASE an Address:

?release abowman
Address "ABOWMAN" released

If an address is being used by one or more Alerts, you will not be able to RELEASE it:

>>>The address is used by profile WIRE.
>>>RELEASE MDARCY failed.

• To review your SearchSaves before issuing a RELEASE command:

?recall save
Name Modified Size
------------------------------ -------- ----
PROFILE 17mar08 4

BURN 18mar08 4

• To review a SearchSave before releasing it:

?recall geom
Name: GEOM
Modified: 17mar08
 Line Commands:
----- ---------
   1. SELECT COMPUTER? OR MICROCOMPUTER?
   2. S S1 AND MATHEMATICS AND GEOMETR?
   3. S S2 AND ELEMENTARY(W)(SCHOOL? OR EDUCATION)

?release geom
SearchSave "GEOM" released

To release more than one strategy or address at once, stack commands using a semicolon (e.g., RELEASE SATOM; RELEASE SBJERRY; RELEASE ABEMAIL).

To release your Dialog profile, enter RELEASE PROFILE.

Notes:
It is helpful, though not required, to use the RECALL command to verify a strategy or address that you plan to delete with RELEASE. If you use the RECALL command with the name or serial number of a specific SearchSave or address first, you may omit the name or number in the subsequent RELEASE command.

If you are releasing an address, be sure the address is not being used for Alert output delivery.

Usage Notes

DialogClassic Web: A Profile is deleted (released) by clicking the Preferences Tab at the top of the DialogClassic Web screen and clicking the Reset button on the Preferences page.

DialogLink 5: To RECALL or RELEASE an address enter RECALL ADDRESS (or RECALL ADDR) <name> or RELEASE ADDRESS (or RELEASE ADDR) <name>. For more information review the DialogLink 5 Users Guide or the DialogLink 5 Preferences Quick Reference Card.

DialogWeb—Command: Also offers an Alerts Manager for creating, editing and deleting stored Alerts and Adddress. Access the Alerts Manager via the Alerts link on the menu bar.
