MEDLINE® Reload Progressing

Each year MEDLINE is reloaded because the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) re-indexes relevant documents from the whole database with changed medical terms and removes deleted terms. Currently, the 2005 Medical Subject Headings (MeSH®) are applied to updates for Dialog; however, until the Dialog DataStar reload is completed, the 2004 MeSH will be used for current updates.

Note two additional changes this year:

  • The existing term HUMAN has changed to the plural form HUMANS

  • MEDLINE and OLDMEDLINE (i.e., pre-1966) documents formerly distributed in "Completed" status will be distributed by NLM with a status of MEDLINE or OLDMEDLINE

If you have any questions, please contact your nearest Knowledge Center. These changes are reflected in the Bluesheet and Datasheet.
