Author Searching in News Files

Most news sources provide a byline which is typically formatted in Dialog files exactly as you see it in a newspaper, (e.g., By John Smith of the New York Times). Byline is a word-indexed field searched with the prefix AU=. To search for articles written by John Smith, use S AU=(JOHN(2W)SMITH). Note the (2W) allows for the presence or absence of middle initials.
