New Features Further Enhance Dialog Profound and Dialog NewsRoom
Several new features enhance the functionality of Dialog Profound and Dialog NewsRoom.
Alerts at Sign On
When you sign on to Dialog Profound and Dialog NewsRoom, you can now choose to be notified of your new Alerts.
From My Dialog, select Preferences and the Alerts link to set the Preference option to "Yes." See Figure 1. Recent Alerts displays, containing up to two days of Alerts. When you have a new Alert that you have not viewed since signing on, you will be taken directly to the Recent Alerts page. Note: You can also disable e-mail delivery of Alerts without deleting the Alerts and use only the Alerts at Sign On feature for receiving them.
Alerts Formatting
To make Alerts easier to use, enhancements have been made to the Alerts formatting.
- Formatting for the title, publication date and source makes the Alert
title list easier to read.

- On the Recent Alerts page,
a link to My Documents allows you to view the
Alert archive. The citation information displayed now includes the Alert run date. See Figure 3.
- The Alerts folders contain an archive of Alerts accessible for up to 90 days.
Other Feature Enhancements
- Automatic Sign-On. Now you can choose to sign on to Dialog Profound and Dialog NewsRoom without entering your User ID and password by clicking a link that bypasses the sign-on page.
To set up this feature, send an e-mail to the Knowledge Center at with your company name, customer's name and contact information and your User ID and password. The Knowledge Center technical support staff will contact you to assist in activating this feature.
- Date Range. Last Month has been added to the drop-down menu for Publication Date Range.
This will be the default for Dialog NewsRoom searches.
- Number of Titles Displayed. It is now possible to display up to 100 titles in your Dialog NewsRoom titles list. You can change the default number in My Dialog Preferences.
