Searching by Publication Date (PD=) for Non-Numeric Designations

If a source has a publication date that designates a season or month rather than a numeric date, Dialog automatically assigns an eight-digit publication date for consistency. The designations are as follows:

  • Spring — YYYY0300
  • Summer — YYYY0600
  • Fall — YYYY0900
  • Winter — YYYY1200
  • March — YYYY0300
  • August — YYYY0800
  • etc.

Example:

?s pd=20020300
      S1 2235 PD=20020300
?t s1/3/1
 1/3/1
