Japanese Company Data Added to Kompass

Kompass Asia Pacific (File 592) and Kompass Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific and Americas (KPWO) now contain Japanese company data.

The file currently includes 4,200 Japanese companies, focusing essentially on manufacturers who export and/or import, mainly located in the Tokyo Metropolitan region. More companies, located in Tokyo but also in the Western cities such as Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe will be added. The file will include 10,000 companies in 2003, 14,000 in 2004 and 30,000 in 2006.

Companies are codified against the Kompass hierarchical classification of products and services, which lists 53,000 products by economic sector.
