Dialog File Removals

The Lancet® (File 457/LANC) was removed from Dialog and DataStar. The Lancet is selectively indexed by many other databases such as MEDLINE® (File 155/MEDL), EMBASE® (File 72/EMED), and SciSearch® (File 34/SCIN). Fulltext sources for medical publishing include the New England Journal of Medicine (File 444/NEJM) and the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) (File 442).

Newport Daily News (File 747), Orlando Sentinel (File 705), and Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel (File 497) were removed from Dialog and Dialog NewsRoom (File 990/NEWS). Alternate sources of information for all files include NewsRoom (File 990). For news for File 747 use Roanoke Times (File 577), Richmond Times-Dispatch (File 709), and (Norfolk) Ledger-Star/The Virginian-Pilot (File 741); and for Files 705 and 497 search Tampa Tribune (File 432), Tallahassee Democrat (File 490), Bradenton Herald (File 684), Miami Herald (File 702), or Palm Beach Post (File 712).

At the request of the information provider, the following databases were removed from Dialog and DataStar on September 30, 2002: Aerospace Database (File 108), Aluminum Industry Abstracts (File 33), Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts (File 44), Art Bibliographies Modern (File 56), Ceramics Abstracts (File 335), Conference Papers Index (File 77), Engineered Materials Abstracts (File 293), ISMEC: Mechanical Engineering Abstracts (File 14), Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts (File 36), Materials Business File™ (File 269/MBUS), METADEX® (File 32/META), Oceanic Abstracts (File 28), Pollution Abstracts (File 41/POLL), Sociological Abstracts (File 37/SOCA), Water Resources Abstracts (File 117).

Dialog OnDisc will no longer be accepting new orders or renewals for the CSA databases after September 30, 2002. Please note that all current Dialog OnDisc subscriptions as of that date will continue to be honored, and you will continue to receive updates of CSA databases through the end of your Dialog OnDisc subscription term.

See DataStar File Removals for file removal information also on DataStar. Click here for information on changes to CA Search: CHEMICAL ABSTRACTS (File 399) also on DataStar.
