Customizing Data for the Entire Organization

The DataStar Private File (PRIV) enables customers to better manage data pertaining to competitive intelligence, safety, public relations, product literature, toxicology, and much more. PRIV is a customized database hosted on the DataStar service into which Alerts output and even your company's internal content can be loaded. A PRIV file can be accessed and searched like any other DataStar file. Setting up a PRIV file on DataStar provides a cost-effective way for your company to combine both internal and external data. You can capitalize information costs by paying for data once and archiving it for continued use.

Researchers can search the database by using either Easy or Advanced search options. They can add their own keywords or comments to the content. DataStar popular output options, including WebCharts and PDF, can be used for displaying the data.

In addition, a PRIV can be used as the foundation for a cost-effective enterprise solution; a number of DataStar features can be combined to create a highly effective end user information tool. For example, use Alerts to monitor the corporate information, create a PRIV file to store the Alerts; then develop customized search screens for end users to access.

Call your local representative to learn more about DataStar Private Files (PRIVs).
