With its diverse content and specialized search features, Dialog makes even complex searching easy. The following two suggestions show the versatility of the Dialog MAP command, a powerful data extraction tool.
Tip 1: How to Create a Comprehensive Strategy for Your Pharmaceutical Search
Use the MAP command to extract all of the synonyms and CAS Registry Numbers from some of the Dialog most comprehensive databases of pharmaceutical nomenclature. Then, proceed to any chemical or literature databases to execute a successful search on a compound in question.
Use BEGIN to open two files simultaneously.

Use File 342 to locate cited patents and literature as well as citing patents. Major uses of the database include legal challenges, watch service, competitive intelligence, and trend analysis.
