Support : Publications : Chronolog Archives : Sep/Oct 2002 Editing an Alert Strategy on DataStar Classic Sometimes the information you need from an Alert changes or perhaps a database is modified with new features or search syntax. It is important to keep your Alert strategy current. The easiest way to edit an Alert strategy is to use the command ..EDIT. To change your Alert strategy, begin by entering the database label BASE. When prompted enter the command ..DISPLAY TYPE=ALERT. This will display all of your Alert query numbers.
At the next prompt, enter ..EDIT and the query number e.g., ..EDIT Q0184. Now you are on your way to editing the Alert.
Make a selection from the menu options to change the search strategy. At any time you can select (L) to see the ongoing changes made. When you are satisfied with the modifications to the Alert, make sure to (S) save the changes. To exit, enter E for end. Following is a complete list of the quick commands that can be used in editing an Alert.
