Quantum2 will be offering a number of new sessions designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of information professionals. Sessions include:

From SLA to Business Competencies by Sue Henczel, INFASE. In today's business first culture, the information professional is often thought of as lacking business skills. This session maps the long accepted librarian competencies to business competencies. Outcomes are a gap analysis of needed skills and an action plan for acquiring those skills.

This session maps librarian competencies to strategic competencies. Outcomes are a gap analysis of needed skills and an action plan for acquiring those skills.

Gathering Data for the Information Audit by Sue Henczel, INFASE. Based on the author's book The Information Audit, a Practical Guide, this session offers all the detail necessary for the information professional to conduct an information audit of their organization.

Marketing Information Services by Sue Henczel, INFASE. A session discusses the business competencies necessary for marketing yourself and the IRC. Outcomes of the sessions are a clearer understanding of the three Ps of marketing and the basics of a marketing plan.

Defining the Value of Information Services: Beyond ROI by Laurie Kauffman, Networth Consulting, Inc. Information professionals are constantly being challenged to produce "ROI" statements on their expenditures for information. Upper management may ask, "Why should we spend all this money for information services, when everything we need is available on the Internet for free?" This session goes beyond traditional metrics (e.g. time saved) to look at the business value information expenditures bring to those who pay for it.

Linking Compelling Business Events to Information Services by Laurie Kauffman, Networth Consulting, Inc.
