Decide with Confidence — Three Additional D&B Reports Available

Does the economy give your company the jitters? Do you wonder about your customers' long-term ability to pay their bills to you? Do you need more information about prospects and clients?

Three new reports from D&B used alongside those currently available can help you and your colleagues to make confident business decisions. They are available to users of DialogClassic, DialogClassic Web, and DialogWeb.

D&B Business Background Report (BBR) — This report provides you with a brief business summary and background information on a company as well as the business background of its senior management. With this report you can plan for sales calls, research prospective employers or prepare for job interviews and prepare competitive analyses.

The report includes:

  • Business Summary Details

  • Special Events — Information about major changes or significant activities D&B learns of such as bankruptcy filings, changes in ownership, and acquisitions

  • History — Incorporation data, business background of the principals, and related companies

  • Operations — May include divisional names, terms of sale, territory, number of employees and number of accounts

D&B Comprehensive Report (CR) — This report gives you all the information you've come to depend on in the D&B Business Information Report but takes it one step further. It also provides critical forecasting scores and information to help you assess the probability of a company slowing its payments to you or becoming financially unstable.

In this report you get:

  • D&B Score Ratings and Financial Stress Classifications with demographic comparisons

  • Summary of Payment Habits by Dollar Amounts Due

  • D&B Paydex® trends for your customers and their industry on a month-by-month basis

  • Financial Summary reports in comparison to industry averages

D&B Credit Scoring Report (CSR) — In fast moving markets, a credit application held in review can become a customer lost to the competition. The score helps you decide quickly whether to accept or reject accounts, adjust terms or credit limits, or conduct a more extensive review based on the report D&B provides.

This report provides you with:

  • Company Overview — Company's name, address, net worth, size and date of current management's control, as well as other valuable information

  • D&B Commercial Credit Score Findings — Rankings of the company among businesses in the D&B information base. Predicts the likelihood of an account paying in a delinquent manner during the next 12 months.

  • D&B PAYDEX® Score — An overview of how a firm pays its bills as reported to D&B

  • Credit — Average high credit and highest credit granted

  • Special Events — Notes of situations such as fire or a burglary that may adversely affect a company, or situations like expansion plans, which may indicate an opportunity.

Don't forget about the three valuable reports currently available from D&B. They include D&B's flagship product the D&B Business Information Report and two specialized reports for obtaining information about potential suppliers and information specific to how a company pays its bills.

Business Information Report (BIR) —This report is a recognized standard for in-depth business information and financial risk assessment. It helps you understand the overall performance of businesses through use of the D&B rating. You can make faster credit decisions with target payment information and consider assets, liabilities, and profits to enhance your analysis.

The BIR contains:

  • Payment Summary with D&B's PAYDEX® Score and payment patterns by line of business
  • Summary Analysis to help you spot trends through use of the D&B Rating
  • Special Events that have an effect on a company's performance
  • Financial information including assets, sales, liabilities and profits
  • Public Filings, which identify activity that can affect a firm's stability
  • History and Operations to understand how the company is run

Payment Analysis Report (PAR) — The report provides an in-depth historical analysis of a company's payment performance. You can quickly see how a company paid its bills within the past year as reported to D&B. The Industry PAYDEX® lets you know how other companies in the same industry paid their bills so you can compare your customer to them. This valuable information can help your organization in assessing potential risk and evaluating whether or not to extend credit.

Areas covered:

  • D&B PAYDEX Score — A unique, dollar-weighted indicator of payment performance based on up to 875 payment experiences as reported to D&B by trade references.

  • 90-day D&B PAYDEX Score — Provides an instant overview of a firm's payments as reported to D&B over the most recent 90-day period.

  • Background Information — Provides information on the average bank balances, as well as information on any suits, liens or judgments that may be present.

Supplier Evaluation Report (SER) — This report can be used as a predictive tool with its easy-to-understand risk score (on a scale of 1 to 9, with 1 being the lowest risk and 9 the highest) to help you determine the risk involved in doing business with a U.S. supplier.

Included in the report:

  • At-a-Glance Risk Assessment — Provides a Supplier Risk Score to help you assess the risk of doing business with a supplier.

  • Financial Profile/Ratios with Industry Median — Provides an easy-to-interpret summary that shows a supplier's solvency and profitability industry medians in D&B's file.

  • Payment Trends and Analysis with Industry D&B PAYDEX® Scores — Spot trends in a supplier's business by evaluating its D&B PAYDEX Score over the past 12-month period and the prior four quarters.
