CLAIMS® U.S. Patents (Files 340, 341, 942) "Merged" Records Now Available

The CLAIMS U.S. Patents databases have U.S. granted patents and pre-grant published applications (i.e., PGP, Kind A1). The new PGPs were added in October 2001 as separate records with the release of the annual CLAIMS reload. As a follow up to the initial addition of PGPs, the CLAIMS databases now merge the PGP (Kind A1) and granted patent source records so each Dialog record represents one U.S. invention (i.e., one U.S. patent application).

Single patent country databases, such as European Patents Fulltext, and multi-country patent databases, such as Derwent World Patents Index and INPADOC, also combine all publication levels of an invention into one record.
