New Feature on DataStar: Thesauri Mapping

Thesauri mapping is a new feature that makes it easier to search for similar terms within DataStar databases that contain an online thesaurus. Offered as an option when executing a search, the DataStar thesauri mapping feature allows customers to enter a search term, then click the "map" check box to expand the search with similar search terms. Unlike the "..root" command that locates similarly spelled terms, the thesauri mapping command will expand the search and retrieve synonyms as well. For instance, if a customer at a pharmaceutical company is researching ointments for diaper rash and clicks the mapping check box, "nappy rash" will also appear as a search term. This new mapping feature will help researchers create more comprehensive searches in fewer steps.
