Support : Publications : Chronolog Archives : June 2002 Dialog@Site to Offer Appropriate Copy and Increased Output Functionality Dialog@Site is the fully-customizable software that enables Web access to a select range of key databases for a fixed annual subscription cost. Dialog@Site V5.2 offers customers the world's leading databases hosted on a local or remote server, along with unparalleled linking to the fulltext. With this latest release customers are presented with full appropriate copy and greatly enhanced output functionality. Appropriate Copy When searching bibliographic databases — Ei COMPENDEX®, INSPEC, METADEX®, NTIS, PASCAL, to name a few — the abstract records may not give users the information they need unless they link directly to fulltext articles. Moreover, there's no point in linking to a fulltext provider with whom customers do not subscribe nor being offered document delivery when they already have a paid-for copy in their own library. With Dialog@Site v5.2 customers are offered the three levels vital to locating the fulltext copy most appropriate to their needs:
There are now 8,352 unique journals that are linkable via the electronic fulltext linking functionality of the Dialog@Site software. What's more, if a particular specialist e-journal is not currently linkable but vital to a customer's needs, we will endeavor to set up a link in the shortest time possible (subject to approval from the IP/Publisher). Unlike other fulltext linking services, Dialog@Site's fulltext linking functionality is completely FREE. Enhanced Output Functionality The launch of Dialog@Site V5.2 also offers customers greatly enhanced output functionality, such as browser independent print/save/e-mail options, display/format improvements, and "clippings." Clippings allows users to create a "mini file" or "shopping basket" of articles/text relevant to their needs. |
