Harris Business Profiler Debuts on Dialog

Discover an exciting new data resource now on Dialog that surpasses the norm in quality information on American Business: The Harris Business Profiler (File 537), delivered by Harris InfoSource—the nation's quality leader in researching, compiling, and providing information about U.S. businesses since 1971. Harris Business Profiler features profiles of more than 552,000 firms, including all manufacturers and all non-manufacturing companies with 20 or more employees, the largest and most concentrated group of purchasers in the economy. By June 2002, this record count will grow to 700,000. Dialog will contain the full Harris collection.

For each location, up to 35 fields of need-to-know data elements are collected, including contact information, multiple decision-makers, web addresses, square footage, employment level, product categories, relevant SIC and NAICS codes, year established, and more.

Data sources. The Harris core database is fueled by the high-quality information collected and updated by its three-tiered Editorial Department. This large editorial staff is responsible for researching and adding new listings to the database, as well as for calling existing companies already listed, and updating their information.

Harris also has relationships with a multitude of local, state, and national agencies and chambers of commerce--including the National Association of Manufacturers —enabling Harris InfoSource to compile information that is often difficult for others to obtain. Combined with its extensive editorial processes, this enables Harris to maintain accuracy year after year.

Search Tips. Use /CO or CO= to search for company names, e.g., S CO=BROYHILL? The file is extensively indexed with industry codes; use SC= to search Standard Industrial Classification Codes, NC= to search NAICS codes, and PC= to search Harris product codes. Use NM= to search executive names, e.g., S NM=MILLER, KEN?
