Mergent™ Files Available Soon on Dialog

Mergent, a premier source of reliable business information, has provided Dialog with three new, exciting databases:

File 555, Mergent™ Company Profiles
(no access to U.S. customers)

File 556, Mergent™ Company Snapshots

File 557, Mergent™ Company News Reports

These databases replace the former Moody's files.

Mergent Company Profiles. File 555 provides descriptive and financial information on all major publicly held U.S. companies. The file covers all companies on the New York and American stock exchanges, NASDAQ National Market and Small Cap exchanges, as well as selected companies on regional exchanges, the OTC Bulletin Board and "Pink Sheets." Mergent Company Profiles contains background information on more than 9,000 companies of high investor interest. The data provides rich textual profiles including history, business, properties, subsidiaries, and a listing of executives. The database also contains "as presented financials" denoting the figures originally reported by the company in its document for both annual and quarterly financials. Basic company information for each record includes company name, address, telephone and fax numbers, web site address, and SIC codes. Sources for the data comprise 10Ks, 10Qs, annual reports, quarterly reports, news releases, prospectuses, and stock exchange bulletins. File 555 is available to customers outside North America.

Mergent Company Snapshots. File 556 provides descriptive and financial information on all major publicly-held U.S. companies. The file covers all companies on the New York and American stock exchanges, NASDAQ National Market and Small Cap exchanges, as well as selected companies on regional exchanges, the OTC Bulletin Board and "Pink Sheets." The data include concise narrative descriptions of the most essential company information plus three-year financial histories. The database provides basic company information and financials for 9,000 companies of high investor interest. File 556 is available to all Dialog customers.

Mergent Company News Reports. File 557 offers current, comprehensive coverage of business news and financial information on approximately 9,000 publicly-held U.S. corporations that include industrial companies, banks, savings and loan institutions, insurance companies, real estate companies, public utilities, and transportation companies. Also included are selected non-U.S. companies. Information for the file is taken from annual reports, quarterly reports, news releases, prospectuses, and newswire services. File 557 is available to all Dialog customers.
