Visto Mobile Enterprise Edition - Security

We know security is important to your business. It’s important to us, too. That’s why we designed Visto Mobile™ Enterprise Edition to meet the highest standards of security.

It starts with the Visto Enterprise Server. The VES sits behind your company firewall, interacting with your email server and the Visto NOC. From the NOC, email and other messaging data is pushed out in real-time to your employees’ mobile phones. We use Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)—a government-certified, encryption algorithm specified in the Federal Information Processing Standards publication 197 (FIPS-197) to encrypt all data from your phone to your end destination and back again. Your IT staff can install the VES and have users provisioned in as little as 30 minutes without making any changes to your company firewall or email server.

Your vital data is never stored outside the firewall! When a new message comes in, it gets immediately pushed down to the phone. If the user’s phone is offline or out of range, the message remains at the email server and is delivered when the user’s phone comes online again.

And what about the email, calendaring, contacts, tasks and other business data that are stored on your employee’s mobile phones? We’ve developed several features to secure your corporate information. Your IT managers can require employees to log in to Visto Mobile on their phones everyday by a specific time, authenticating their phones against the system to ensure that they have their phones in their possession.

But what if the phone gets lost or stolen? If an employee loses a phone or it is stolen, Visto has developed the Remote Device Data Wipe feature. Customer Service has the ability to remotely wipe the phone clean of all email and PIM data and lock Visto Mobile down until the user logs in again. If the phone is found, the user can log in and Visto Mobile will once again begin receiving email and the account will be restored.
