Using the Indexing (cont'd)

We create one set of records shown in our search history screen below.

Figure 3

Note that E4 and E5 entries are included in E3.

We can now TYPE out the records in a LONG format to see what domain names Kirkbi has registered. The LONG format will enable us to see the registrant information including the current owner of the name. We now enter the TYPE command in the command text box as shown:

Tip 7-4

type s1/LONG/all

Figure 4

We can see the domain name, the status (in this case registered) and the administrative contact with all location information. Note that record 2 shows Kirkbi as the current owner for the domain name: legolandca.com. Ray also wanted the expiration date. The record indicates that the expiration date is 11/25/03 (November 11, 2003). I better get this over to Ray right away.

Search Tip 7-4:

An alternate way to display records is by using the TYPE command. The TYPE command has three parts:

Set number / Format / Range of Records

All three parts must be included:

T S1/MEDIUM/ 1-3
T S3/FULL/ALL

Formats determine the amount of information displayed for each record. The Format list box identifies the basic format options. The format we select is used for the records retrieved when we click in the Search History table. The common format options are listed below.

Selected Format Options

MEDIUM (Format 3) Domain Information, Status, Expiration and Address Information
