Next, we want to refine our search. Ray wants to see which trademarks Kirkbi is planning to use. This is also a good way to gain competitive intelligence on the company's products by seeing what trademarks they plan to use in the future.

By reviewing the legal status field in a record, we are able to determine whether trademarks are registered, abandoned, pending, or whether the company intends to use the mark for a new product.  Learn More

We continue our search by SELECTing the legal status fields (ST=) "intent to use" and "pending" and the owner set we just created. We enter the command in the command text box like this:

s s1 and st=(pending or intent to use)

TRADEMARKSCAN-U.S. State (File 246) contains four status categories: registered, renewed, cancelled, and expired.

In TRADEMARKSCAN-U.K. (File 126) there are 16 categories, including New Application, Abandoned, Withdrawn, etc.
