Using Dialog Commands (cont'd)

A Search History page appears showing a set (S1) containing the number of records I found with my exact trademark search. Notice that there are five (5) records.

search history screen

I am now ready to display the trademark records from my search.

I want to view records from Set 1, which contains the Legoland trademarks. It is often a good idea to look at just the mark first before printing out the entire record. I will use the SHORT format which will give me just the trademark text. Tip 1-4

Since Ray wants the trademark with a design, this format will also indicate whether a design is included.

To display records, we

  1. Choose a format from the drop-down list. Learn More
    format drop down menu
  2. Indicate the number of records to display. The default is 10 records. A maximum of 99 records can be specified. In our case, we have five records Tip 1-5
  3. Click display button for the appropriate set.

Search Tip 1-4:

You can also use Format 49 to retrieve just the trademark text and whether there is an image designated.

Search Tip 1-5:

If there are many records in a set and we want to see more than 10, we can click the link to the next group of records at the bottom of the screen, or enter a TYPE command to view more records.

We should only use the link after we have completed viewing all the records in the current list.

Search Tip 1-6:

An alternate way to display records is by using the TYPE command (abbreviated T). The TYPE command has three parts:

Set number/format/range of records.

All three parts must be included.

Example:

Command Set Format Range of records
 T s#  / 49  / 1-3
 T s#  / short  / all

Learn More #6:
