Entering a Product Name

I can now enter my SELECT command as follows:

select eli(n)lilly/co and (marketing or sales)/de

We will use some of the specific descriptor terms in our search strategy.

We can now take a look at a few of the records to see if our search is on target.

I enter my TYPE command as shown below, using the KWIC format to see the "enhanced" titles of the articles. This enhanced title allows us to see more about the article before we decide which complete articles we want.

Search Tip 5-2:

Business & Industry includes a list of indexing terms that help us focus our search on exactly the type of competitive intelligence we want. Although they all appear in the descriptor field of the record, we can search them using specific prefixes as follows:

select CT=market size
select MT=infomercials
select IN= pharmaceuticals

(concept term)
(marketing term)
(industry name)

Or, we can use the descriptor suffix /de to search the entire descriptor field: select market size/de
