Choosing A Market Research Database (cont'd.)

When the list of databases in the Market Research Reports — Fulltext [MARKETFULL] category appears, I can search all of them or a selected number.

Tip 3-2

databases in MARKETFULL

When actually logged on to DialogWeb, click on the database name to get more details about the kind of market research it contains. Tip 3-3

Based on a review of the descriptions of market research reports, we could choose a database to search, for example, the Frost & Sullivan Market Engineering database, and click begin databases.

However, many times I am not certain which is the best database. I use the databases selection tool, DIALINDEX, to help choose the best fulltext market research database for our topic. If I were already certain which market research databases I wanted to search, I could skip using the selection tool DIALINDEX first.

Go on to the DIALINDEX demonstration on the next page.

Skip the DIALINDEX demonstration.

Search Tip 3-2:

We can clear checkboxes by clicking the specific ones we do not want to include, or we can click the Clear Selections button to clear all checkmarks and choose fewer databases.

Search Tip 3-3:

Requesting the database description opens a second copy of our Web browser. We can leave this open for reference during the search.

We simply click the original page on the desktop if it is visible, use ALT+TAB to switch between screens, or use the "boxes" on the bottom menu bar in Windows.
