It is important to see what's happening in the industry as a whole to see where particular company strategies fit into the marketplace. Special indexing terms can help in this kind of search too, as shown in the next example.

Search Tip 2-2:

The CO= field is now available in many news sources to search for company names. This is an excellent way to ensure the article we have retrieved is about the company we are searching.

Since the CO= field is universal across almost all business databases, it is now easier to include newspapers in our general business search.

Search Tip 2-3:

When combining AND and OR connectors in the same search statement, remember to place the ORed terms in parentheses.

Example:

Limiting search terms to the title or lead paragraph (/TI,LP) will help locate articles most relevant to our topic, as opposed to stories just mentioning our search terms.
