Basic Index Searching (continued)

We have already been searching the Inspec database, File 4. To search for the term LEOS, I will type my search terms after the question mark prompt, limiting LEOS to the identifier field using the suffix /id and the descriptor field using the suffix /de:

s low(w)earth(w)orbin or leos or leo
     s s1/id,de and iridium

If search terms appear in the identifier field, it usually means that these are relatively new terms being used as indexing terms in the database. It is also likely that articles will focus on that topic.

I clicksubmit to process my search and the search history screen appears.

I'll click display to see the first 10 records and choose the KWIC format to get a little more information than just titles and descriptors.

I think I'll print out all of these records and send them to Brian. He can decide how many he wants as complete abstracts. Just from the excerpts we can tell that a researcher named Fantacci has corroborated in writing many of the articles on technology used in the Iridium program.
