Lesson 6: Refining a Search (Part 2)
Objectives
- Understand the Additional Indexes of the Dialog Bluesheet
- Use the Dialog Bluesheet for prefix code searching
- Use the EXPAND command
Introduction
Chris -
I promise this is my last request. We've looked at the gaming console products. I'd also like to see what's happening with two companies who make the video games. I hear the competition is heating up between Electronic Arts and Sega. What can you find out?
Thanks,
Brian
Before answering Brian's request, let's look again at the Dialog Bluesheets. This time we'll look at the Additional Indexes to identify the company name.
The Additional Indexes
In Lesson 5 we looked at the Basic Index to refine our search to the most relevant information on the product GameCube by restricting the search to the titles of articles. Additional Indexes indicate how to narrow a search further by using information other than the subject of the search.
We may also want to find financials or basic factual data on a specific company, like Electronic Arts. Or, we may need an article from a certain trade journal. We may also want information written only in the last year.
