Summary — The Prous Databases
(Files 452,453,458, 459)
The information contained in Lesson 6 gives you a complete picture of the Prous family of databases. These include Files Prous Science Daily Essentials (File 458; File 459—archive), Prous Science Drug Data Report (File 452), and Prous Science Drugs of the Future (File 453). Each database has its strengths.
File 458 gives you up-to-date news related to drugs and contain chemical structure images, and File 459 provides an archive. In Files 452 and 453 you can find extensive lists of references to make searching in the medical databases easier, and they also provide chemical structure images. File 452 is unique in giving information on compounds at the biological testing level, as well as detailed patent information. File 453 contains very detailed records including information on synthesis, pharmacological activity, pharmacokinetics and clinical trials.
The chart below identifies important parts of the record for Files 452 and 453. This will complete the chart of drug pipeline databases.
