About the Prous databases...
We'll look at each database separately. All files are produced by Prous Science.
Key points about the files include:
Prous Science Drug Data Report (File 452) database provides:
- Information on more than 65,000 bioactive compounds reported in the print journal Prous Science Drug Data Report since June 1988, updated monthly.
- Tracking of compounds from the patent application stage through research and development phases to approval, marketing, and postmarketing periods. Approximately 10,000 records are added to the database each year.
- Up-to-date information for professionals in research, development, management, marketing, licensing, and information sciences within the pharmaceutical industry and for all those interested in following industry activities.
Prous Science Drugs of the Future (File 453) provides:
- Comprehensive drug monographs containing product information on new compounds, including the synthesis and corresponding schemes, pharmacological action, pharmacokinetics and metabolism, toxicity, clinical studies, manufacturer and references.
- Coverage from January 1, 1990 to the present with monthly updates.
- Information on compounds continuously updated as advances in development status are disclosed worldwide.
- Ability to easily track the evolution of bioactive compounds through the pipeline, from preclinical studies through clinical trials up to marketing.
- A unique source for describing the state of the art of pharmaceutical R&D worldwide since many compounds selected in the database reach the marketplace at some time.

Prous Science Daily Essentials (Files 458, 459) is a clear, concise database that contains:
- Last four weeks of data in File 458, updated daily.
- Up-to-date drug R&D information. More than 25 late-breaking news items including information from ongoing congresses and conferences are posted in the current file (File 458) each business day.
- Practical and accurate information including chemical structures, data tables and other images for day-to-day decisions in drug R&D and marketing.
- A searchable archive (File 459) providing access to more than 70,000 news items from March 1996 to the last month, updated weekly.
