Use the ONTAP (ONline Training And Practice) databases indicated to practice your searches.
View the current ONTAP user numbers and passwords. Remember that you must use the ONTAP user number and password to avoid incurring charges for your practice searches.
Log onto DialogClassic.
Exercise 6: Use the Dialog Bluesheets to construct appropriate search strategies. Use suffixes and prefixes to get more precise results and the EXPAND command when needed.
First, create search strategies for the following searches. Then try logging on to DialogClassic and performing the requested searches. Remember, you will need to logon using the practice (ONTAP) user id and password provided in order to search at no cost.
- Find conference papers that discuss wind shear and aircraft (ONTAP Ei Compendex Plus, File 208).
- Locate articles on software design published in 1990. (ONTAP SciSearch, File 294)
- Find a citation to a conference held in Brighton,
England on the politics involved in space science
which appeared in the journal Acta Astronautica (ONTAP Inspec, File
213).
- Locate a book about computer aided design or CAD (ONTAP Inspec, File 213).
