Use the ONTAP (ONline Training And Practice) databases indicated to practice your searches.
View the current ONTAP user numbers and passwords. Remember that you must use the ONTAP user number and password to avoid incurring charges for your practice searches.
Before starting Lesson 2, go online to answer the questions below. The material will reinforce your understanding of the information you just learned in Lesson 1 and provide you with additional information about appropriate databases for our Frontier merger topic.

Exercise 1:
Use DIALINDEX to select a category to browse for appropriate databases containing trade journals on the topic of interactive video games, specifically Playstation2.
Log on to DialogWeb and perform the requested searches using ONTAP DIALINDEX (File 290) called Databases in DialogWeb. Remember, you will need to logon using the practice (ONTAP) user id and password provided in order to search at no cost.
After logging on, click Databases on the Welcome screen to get started.
- Which category from the eight main ones would you choose to find business trade journals?
- Which sub-category would you select from the six listed below to find the Playstation topic in trade journals?
- Company Directories
- Company Financials and Reports
- Countries and Regions
- Industries and Markets
- Products
- Other Sources
- Enter the search terms in the Search box as in the lesson example (e.g., playstation2 and interactive) to run the search in a sub-category.
- Name at least three databases that might have trade journals containing this topic. (Hint: click the title of databases in the list to see the File Description).
