Redwood City, California, October 16, 2007 – Visto, the leading global provider of secure, easy-to-use mobile email, today announced the appointment of Mr. Thomas E. “Tom” Wheeler, former president and chief executive officer of the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA), to its Advisory Board. In this role, Wheeler will draw on his knowledge of telecommunications trends and carrier initiatives to provide strategic guidance to Visto as it continues its rapid growth in the mobile messaging market.

Wheeler worked at the forefront of telecommunications policy and technology for the last three decades and served as president and CEO of CTIA from 1992-2004. Prior to his work at CTIA, he also served as President of the National Cable Television Association (NCTA), the principal trade association of the cable television industry. In addition, as an entrepreneur, Tom has played an integral role in establishing multiple companies offering new cable, wireless and video communications services, both domestically and internationally.
