Vodafone Spain Chooses Visto to Deliver Mobile Email Offering

(Redwood Shores, CALIF., April 21, 2005) - Visto Corporation, a leading global provider of secure push mobile email, announced that Vodafone Spain, one of Europe's leading mobile operators with more than 10 million subscribers, has selected Visto MobileT with ConStantSyncT to power its Vodafone Real Mail service offering, launched today.

Using the Visto Mobile 5 platform with ConstantSync technology, Vodafone Spain is delivering a customized push email solution, Vodafone Real Mail. Visto Mobile 5 enables the instantaneous two-way delivery of email, contacts and calendar updates to any 2.5G or 3G device. Its flexibility represents the ideal solution for individual mobile professionals, SoHo, SME and large multinational enterprise customers.
Vodafone Real Mail consists of a push email service available on a range of selected mobile phones. The user can read mails, reply, forward, or create new mails directly from the handset, with attachments being individually downloaded, only as requested. Vodafone Real Mail supports existing POP3, as well as Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes, email accounts. Vodafone Spain has announced a range of service packages, including devices, service and airtime, that cater for all business market segments.

With Visto Mobile 5 and Visto's ConstantSync technology, users can send and receive email from their mobile phone, as well as update, in real-time, their PIM (Personal Information Management) details, including contacts and calendar. The Visto Mobile solution is FIPS 140-compliant, offers end-to-end AES encryption for total security and has an optimized network architecture that requires only 20 percent of the bandwidth of SyncML or IMAP-based solutions. This significantly reduces the amount of data transfer required for operators and users.
The Visto platform already supports a wide array of handset operating systems, including Windows Mobile 2003, Palm OS, Symbian OS and also J2ME, allowing users to access their email on the widest variety of devices on the market.
The Visto solution is being marketed under the Vodafone Spain brand, Vodafone Real Mail. This service is immediately available to Vodafone Spain subscribers.
