Visto Corporation Receives Patent for Secure Mobile Authentication
Mobile email solution delivers secure over-the-air email, calendar, and contacts for broadest range of devices
(Redwood Shores, CALIF., August 30, 2004) - Visto Corporation (www.visto.com), the leading global provider of personal and corporate wireless email and PIM solutions to mobile operators for the broadest set of mobile device platforms, announced today it has been granted a patent on a mechanism for securely identifying and authenticating mobile and remote users. This marks the twenty-first patent in Visto's portfolio.
The newly granted patent, U.S. Patent No. 6,766,454, describes a system and method for using an authentication applet to identify and authenticate a user in a computer network. Additional information about this patent is available at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (www.uspto.gov).
