Visto Hires Carrier Sales Vice President for Asia Pacific
(Redwood Shores, CALIF., October 15, 2003) –Visto
Corporation (www.visto.com), the leading provider of personal and
corporate mobile access solutions that are easy to install, administer
and use, today announced that Kumail Tyebjee has been named vice
president, carrier sales, Asia Pacific. In this newly created role,
Mr. Tyebjee will be responsible for selling Visto’s wireless
messaging technology through mobile carrier partners within the
Pacific Rim.
This new hire is the next step in Visto’s expansion plans,
following closely on the heels of recent funding and acquisition
announcements, to build out sales and marketing efforts within the
burgeoning market of the Pacific Rim. Visto currently works with
wireless carrier customers AT&T Wireless, Bell Mobility, KPN,
Manitoba Telecom Services, Nextel Communications, Inc., Rogers AT&T
Wireless, SaskTel Mobility, SmarTone and TELUS Mobility.

Tyebjee brings two decades of sales, marketing, and management
experience to Visto Corporation, including strategic work for Vodafone,
Verizon Wireless, Cingular, AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile, Nextel,
and Microcell. Before joining Visto, Tyebjee was a senior executive
at Saraide, a software start-up company funded by Nortel, Ericsson,
and GSM Capital and specializing in wireless data solutions. After
Saraide was acquired by InfoSpace, Tyebjee became responsible for
expanding the InfoSpace’s sales and marketing efforts in Asia
Pacific, including establishing operations in Australia. Tyebjee
also has worked as a principal with the A.T. Kearney management
consulting firm, as well as in management consulting and executive
roles at SRI International, Alexander & Alexander, and TRW.
Tyebjee holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration
from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Bachelors of Science
from Bombay University, and a Diploma in Business Management from
KC College in Bombay.
