Visto Pushes Corporate Email to Wireless Devices

This significant upgrade adds “push” of corporate email to wireless devices so mobile workers receive new email on their device, as it occurs.Visto also significantly enhanced its support of large and multi-type email attachments. Large attachments, including Microsoft Office documents, can be downloaded over the air, viewed, forwarded and edited using third party file viewers.

The Visto Mobile Access Solution, Server Edition provides secure and cost-effective access to corporate email over all standard wireless networks, for a broad array of device platforms, including Palm OS--such as the newly announced Handspring Treo 600, Pocket PC and SmartPhone, Symbian and J2ME. The highly scalable Visto Enterprise Server installs quickly without modifications to the corporate firewall, connecting to the corporate Microsoft Exchange Server, and providing a centralized point of access to administer user accounts, establish synchronization intervals and generate log reports.

• Ability to Manage Email Receipt: Users can control how and when email is delivered: manual, scheduled or pushed. The “push” feature is now available on all current Palm smartphones, including Handspring Treo 300 and 270, Kyocera 7135, Palm Tungsten W, and the soon to be shipped Treo 600.
• Attachment Support: Very large file downloads and forwarding, as well as Microsoft Office and other document viewing and editing on Palm OS devices via third party viewers.
• Proxy Support: Visto includes proxy support for Palm and PocketPC devices so mobile workers can access email from WiFi or Bluetooth networks in addition to traditional wireless service providers.
• Direct Billing: Visto now provides wireless operators with direct provisioning and billing capabilities for their wireless subscribers so Visto’s corporate email service can be added and billed for by carriers.
• Enhanced Monitoring: Visto provides Enhanced Active Monitoring for constant, end-to-end assessment of mobile email service status.

Visto's software licensing fee starts at $995 for a 10-seat server license and an annual service subscription of $240.
