Visto Corporation and ViAir Announce Merger
Merger Raises the Bar for Mobile Solution Providers
(Redwood Shores, CALIF., June 4, 2003) – Visto Corporation (www.visto.com), the leading provider of personal and corporate mobile access solutions that are easy to install, administer and use, today announced that it has merged with ViAir Corporation of Seattle, Washington. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
The merged company will do business under the Visto name and will offer a broad set of mobile access solutions for enterprises and individuals through wireless operators, devices manufacturers and direct channels, with headquarters in Redwood Shores, California and offices throughout North America and Europe.
“ViAir has been a global leader in carrier and mobile messaging solutions, with over 300,000 users through contracts with nine major wireless operators worldwide,” said Brian Bogosian, chairman, president and CEO of Visto. “Combined with our operator, enterprise, device and platform partners, we have the most complete and robust solutions for enterprises and individuals.”
“The merged Visto will offer the broadest, most mature wireless access solutions in each of the critical categories: device, enterprise server/desktop and carrier infrastructure,” said ViAir CEO Bruce Chatterley. “In addition, the collective deployment experience of the teams is unprecedented. We believe that the combination of the two companies provides an accelerant of both time and competition by providing superior technologies and distribution capabilities to the market.”
The transaction follows closely Visto’s recently announced completion of a $30 Million financing, creating a strong financial platform to capture a dominant share of the rapidly growing mobile access solutions market.

Visto is attempting to raise the bar on its competition by offering carrier customers a comprehensive suite of email solutions.”
