Visto and Motorola Offer Simple, Cost-Effective Access to Wireless Email on Motorola phones with J2ME technology

(Redwood Shores, CALIF., April 7, 2003) – Visto Corporation (www.visto.com), the leading provider of personal and corporate mobile access solutions that are easy to install, administer and use, today announced that it has signed a software distribution agreement with Motorola Personal Communications Sector (PCS) to offer Visto’s MessageXpress solution for Motorola’s devices with J2ME technology, starting with models T720, A388 and A830.

“This alliance will allow both Motorola and Visto to drive mobile operator subscriber revenue growth by offering the combined functionality of J2ME and Visto MessageXpress,” commented Brian Bogosian, chairman, president and CEO of Visto. “On another level, we will be able to build strong customer loyalty and generate new revenue streams by marketing our products and services to the increasing number of enterprises and mobile professionals who are demanding cost-effective mobility solutions that are proven and provide a richer, more versatile user experience.”

Motorola customers purchasing J2ME technology devices will be able to quickly and simply install and activate Visto MessageXpress upon purchase of their device. MessageXpress offers a secure and flexible synchronization solution to accommodate changing mobility needs. Visto is one of the only solutions with both online and offline access. The MessageXpress application running on the device enables customers to conveniently manage their email without being connected or when they’re in an area without wireless coverage. Once they’re back in a coverage area and ready to send their email, they simply connect and synchronize. Visto MessageXpress J2ME client enables access to corporate email (Microsoft Outlook/Exchange and Lotus Notes/Domino) as well as POP3 email.
