TOPIC: In this example, you want to find the top pharmaceutical companies and their leading drugs. Indexing helps you identify the drugs and get a listing. Use Gale Group PROMT ® (File 16) and Business & Industry™ (File 9) to take advantage of the indexing in the databases.

HOW TO...


1. BEGIN 9,16 business databases to take advantage of the indexing.

2. Use the indexing for product name (PN=) and the descriptor field (/DE) for a ranking to refine the search strategy.

3. Combine the sets.

4. Limit the search to the year 2005 (/2005).

5. TYPE all the records using Format 6 to see which is most relevant.


6. Click Links > Display > Type Full Record to see the entire record.
