Find Technical Information on a Specific Topic?
TOPIC: In the Dialog engineering collection a number of databases will meet your search needs. Several can be used for our search: Ei Compendex® (File 8), Inspec® (File 2) and NTIS: National Technical Information Society (File 6). On Dialog these three files can be searched together, or we can search the entire Engineering category (ENG).
In this example we are looking for information on an identification technology being used to ensure better security. We'll use Inspec (File 2). In selecting search terms for this radio frequency identification technology, it is important to use various forms of the same term for a comprehensive search.
COMMAND SUMMARY
BEGIN 2
SELECT RFID OR RADIO(W)FREQUENCY(W)IDENTIFICATION OR RADIOFREQUENCY (W)IDENTIFICATION
SELECT S1 AND GEN2 OR GEN(W)2
TYPE S2/8/1-5
TYPE S2/9/1
HOW TO...

1. BEGIN File 2, Inspec.
2. SELECT all forms of the search term, including acronyms. Note the proximity connector (w) or () is used to retrieve words next to each other in the exact order specified.

Abstract: Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) has been
considered as an key infrastructure for the ubiquitous society.
However, due to the inherent drawbacks RFID causes various
security threats like privacy problems, tag cloning, etc. To
address these issues, lots of works had been proposed, but most
are not conformed to the EPCglobal RFID Gen2 standard. Some
Genl-conformed schemes have the obstacles in implementations
since they require the modifications of the standard and
additional hardware-level implementations of the tags and
readers. This paper proposes a novel practical approach, which
are fully conformed to EPCglobal RFID Gen2 standard, for
enhancing security of currently used RFID Gen2 tags against the
various security threats. ( 18 Refs)
