Find a Specific Research Location?

TOPIC: When a product is in its infancy, determinations for who can make the product or how it is best made are considered. Some databases on Dialog, such as Research Centers & Services (File 115), contain contact information for researchers to contact the laboratories and centers that might have information useful to their research. Especially important are addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses. Also provided is the research being conducted.

In this example we are looking for data on the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory in California.

HOW TO...

1. BEGIN in File 115, Research Centers & Services. 2. VISUAL EXPAND using the ON= prefix for organizations and the name of the lab. Using just the letter "L" will show the index from the beginning of the letter "L." 3. Check the entry for Lawrence Livermore Lab and click Select.
The set (S1) containing records on the Lawrence Livermore Lab is created. 4. Narrow the search to a particular topic the lab may be working on to see location and contact information.
5. TYPE the complete record using Format 9 to see all information about Lawrence Livermore Lab. In this record you can see all location information for the Lab Department related to pollution.
