Find Market Share Information for a Product?

TOPIC: Finding market share data on products is easy on Dialog in the trade journal literature databases. This example shows how to use Business & Industry (File 9), Gale Group PROMT® (File 16), Gale Group Trade & Industry Database™ (File148) to find market share information on the breakfast cereal industry.

The product codes used in all three databases are based on the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes. To obtain a product code, visit http://www.osha.gov/oshstats/sicser.html. An alternate way to find a product code is to EXPAND the Product Name (PN=) field; then EXPAND the Product Code (PC=) field using the first 4 digits found next to the product name.
