ABI/INFORM — 2008–2009 in Review

It's all about research—and in 2009 business research is more important than ever. For over 35 years, ABI/INFORM has been growing and evolving our world-class indexing, our scholarly content, and our commitment to put the best resources at the fingertips of business researchers worldwide. In the past year ProQuest managed 6% and 8% content growth in ABI/INFORM Global and ABI/INFORM Complete respectively. ABI/INFORM scholarly content also saw major growth, at 12% overall, with 72 journals added last year. ProQuest Central added nearly 500 new titles in 2008, and in the first half of 2009, it added nearly 200 titles, including books, videos, trade publications and journals, newspapers, market research reports, and scholarly journals.

Over 5,200 dissertations were added in April 2009, growing the dissertations collection by nearly 20%. There are now over 34,000 dissertations available in ProQuest Central.

Doctoral Dissertations and Working Papers Added
With a loyal dedication to the academic community and their scholarly work, ABI/INFORM also added 3,400 dissertations in 2008 bringing the total business dissertations to nearly 30,000. Along with significant growth to dissertations, we have also added working papers from SSRN (Social Science Research Network). Working Papers provide insight into the research of tomorrow, by collecting and indexing scholarly work-in-progress before it is published.

New Additions in ABI/INFORM Complete!
Notably, ABI/INFORM Complete also added 34 trade publications, 3 additional business case providers, 3 conference proceedings, and several other sources of valuable business information last year.

ProQuest Accounting & Tax — Enhancements and Changes

ProQuest Accounting & Tax, our premier source for accounting, auditing, taxation, and financial management information, has made some changes as of August 1. Rather than two separate accounting products, ProQuest now offers a single, enhanced version of our core accounting journals database. Your newly revised ProQuest Accounting & Tax database now includes additional journals formerly included only with ProQuest Accounting & Tax with Standards.

Top publications in this database include:

ProQuest continuously evolves search indexing and editorial processes. Timely information is critical to understanding current events unfolding in the business world; therefore business researchers demand the highest standards in search-result indexing.
