Finding U.S. Fortune 500 Companies

The Fortune number field (FO=) in combination with the special feature field (SF=) can be used to create a list of Fortune 500 companies in American Business Directory (File 531) and then display as report output in an easy-to-read tabular format.

Below is a synopsis of the search and output commands.

S1 FO=0001:0500
S2 SF=HEADQUARTERS
S3 S1 AND S2
S4 SORT S3/ALL/SA,D
REPORT S5/CO,SA,FO/1-10

S3 is sorted by sales, S4 by Fortune number. The REPORT table will show the company name, sales, and Fortune number for the first 10 Fortune 500 companies.
