The WORD command produces a Microsoft® Word "report" from search results you saved as an XML file and a template you downloaded or created. The WORD command is an alternative to clicking Create Report in the Word Reports section of the Reports tab and selecting a template and a results file from the lists displayed. The resulting report is a Word document containing formatted results data. This is a fast way to present search results in an attractive, easy-to-read customized format. You can use the WORD command when you are online or offline. Before using the WORD command:
Enter a WORD command such as: WORD overview USING newstemplate where "overview" is the name of an xml search results file and "newstemplate" is the name of a Word template. Note that the results file name and template name do not include .xml and .xslt file type extensions. DialogLink opens Word, loads the results data into the template and displays the Word document. The formatting defined in the template is now applied to each field. When you close the Word file, a .doc version of the original file name is created in the Dialog > Link > Download directory. You may also use File > Save As in the normal way to name and save a copy of the Word file to a different location. |
