Entering Commands
- Command Box: You interact with DIALOG by typing commands in the
Command Box and pressing Enter or Shift+Enter.
Use Enter to send all of your commands in the Command Box at once and use Shift+Enter to
send your commands line by line. Commands
with up to 2,000 characters in length are allowed. The Command Box
acts as a Type Ahead Buffer, and you
can separate multiple searches using a semicolon (;).
- Previous Commands: Each command entered in the Command Box is added
to the Session Window.
You can link to any command submitted in the Command Box in the
Session Window by clicking on the command. You can
copy multiple commands by selecting the checkbox next to the
command and then clicking the "Send to Buffer"
button.

Cancelling Commands
To cancel a command before it completes, click the
STOP button in the
DialogClassic Web product. The browser's STOP button WILL NOT cancel your request to
DIALOG.

- Command Tab:
The Command Tab is where you will interact with
DIALOG. It consists of a Type Ahead Buffer (where you edit and submit
commands), an Output Buffer (where your output from DIALOG appears), a
Database window (shows links to bluesheets for all open files), and
a Session window (shows all of your commands issued during your
session).
- Editor
Tab: The Editor tab gives
you a fully functional text editor directly in DialogClassic Web. You
can take output from your DIALOG session or any source and create a
personalized document. Once you have finished editing, you have the
option to save the resulting document in HTML, TEXT, MS Word, or
PDF.
- History
Tab: The History Tab
stores all of your DIALOG sessions, including all output and commands, for
thirty (30) days. Each session is date and time stamped, and you can
access your session by clicking on a link in the Sessions
window.
- Preferences: The
Preferences Tab enables you to set certain behaviors in DialogClassic Web,
including preferred billing model, highlighting, etc.

Load Script:
Click the Load
Script button to load pre-made command scripts that are stored as TEXT
file. Any .TXT file can be loaded as a script.

Save:
Click the Save button to save all or highlighted
sections of your output. You can save your output in HTML, TEXT, MS
Word, or PDF format by choosing your desired format in the drop down list next
to the Save button. Clicking on the Save button without highlighting
will save all of your output. Clicking on Save after you have
highlighted output will save the highlighted output only.

Clear Buffers: Click this button to
clear any or all of buffers in the product.

Send Highlighted Text to Editor: Click this button to
send highlighted output to the Editor for later use
and formatting.

Stop:
Click this button
to Cancel your current command to DIALOG. When
you do not have a command being processed by DIALOG,
then the button will be
"grayed" out .

Lock Typing: Click this button
to lock the Type Ahead buffer in order to allow you edit command statements
before submitting them to DIALOG. Click padlock again
to unlock the Type Ahead buffer.

Logon:
Click the Logon button to open a session
with DIALOG. You can also use the LOGON command in the Command
Box.

Logoff: Click the Logoff
button to close your session with DIALOG. You can also use the LOGOFF
command in the Command Box.

Contact Dialog: Click this
button to send feedback to directly to DIALOG support.

Order Documents:
Click this icon to access DIALOG's Patent and Document Delivery
services.

Print: Click on the
Print button to print all or selections of your output.

Access Help and Support
Materials: Click on this button to be taken to DialogClassic Web Help
and Support Materials. Note: The HELP command for
DIALOG commands and services is still available.
